A symptom of Broken Heart Syndrome: Sleep Insomnia

6-8 hours of sleep is not the standard for quality sleep

The symptom of a broken heart could be sleep insomnia. The common category of sleeping hours falls between 6 and 8 hours for adults. It is really a rough generalization on this issue. If your sleeping hours are less than the indicated normal, do not panic, because I have some good thoughts for you.

4 hours of sleep with good control of mind and body

The amount of time for sleep is really like the amount of food different people need. The body size, metabolism, genetic features, living environment and excising habits, etc are all contributing factors that give different people the different scope of appropriate hours for resting and staying vibrant.

I would like to share my personal experience with you. Sometimes, 4 hours of sleep makes me much more energetic than 7 or 8 hours of sleeping time. I am much more sensible, happy, and function more efficiently. Why? They happen to be those days when I aced my moods and have very good control of my mind and body and when I gained a fine balance physically and spiritually. A broken heart cannot maintain inner peace, however.

Do not waste energy on redundant consciousness

The secret is: we do not need many hours to sleep well if we do not waste our daily energy on something we do not need. If our mind is not busy with the useless mode of spending our energies, we would not waste our energy on trying to fall asleep. Those redundant consciousnesses and desires clog up in our brain and force our brain to keep awake and strained, the root cause of insomnia. When our heart is broken, our energies will be scattered around helplessly. The first right action is to mend the broken heart and rebuild our energy system.

It is perfect fine to suffer occasional sleep insomnia

Moreover, our body is a very flexible bio-system. It can adjust its rhythm with the exterior environment smoothly. If you have ups and downs in emotions that lead to insomnia due to a broken heart, the first thing to heed on is to get a proper perspective, and do not worry about it! Try to understand that it is so natural to lose sleeping time during harsh and special moments. A living human suffers and grows through pains, laughs, and tears, like the weather in four seasons, wind, rain, sun, and rainbow. All the changes are natural. Be the Moon and Tide, just go with the flow and let go!

Here is a poem called "Test" that might make you heart go with flow!

Only thing to avoid: Obsession

The only thing you need to try your best to avoid the symptom of a broken heart is not to fall prey to obsession. Even we lose a lot of sleep during the time of struggles and hardships of a broken heart, our body will recover fully after sufficient transformations have been done. Our immune system and body function better than before because the temporary insomnia takes care of our emotional growth and spiritual growth as well as mind and body wellness. Like a building under construction, it looks broken, but it is actually in the process of completion.

We need give ourselves the very permission to suffer insomnia occasionally with an accepting mind. On the contrary, if we fear insomnia and suppress our need to cleanse our emotional system during personal growth to avoid insomnia, we are doomed. The more we suppress the natural true need, the more severe insomnia will attack us.

So even you have less than 6 hours of sleep, for example, only sleep 4 hours, or less than it, relax! As long as your heart is peaceful, you will be fine! The insomnia is just another word for an imbalance between your mind and body. It might well be the symptom of a broken heart. This type of insomnia serves as a head-up for your spiritual health which can coexist with healthy mental development.
